Favorite Lines from SANYARE (WIP), Chapters 1 - 5

Favorite Lines

Favorite Lines from SANYARE, chapters 1 -5 I don't have anything earth-shattering to share this week. A lot of major rewrites are happening, specifically to the end of the first act, but I don't think it will change my (new) first draft deadline much. Cross your fingers.

As a reward for your patience, here are some of my favorite lines from the first five chapters of SANYARE.  Enjoy!

Palm trees rose high above the cliffs in the distance, absorbing the last dying rays of the sun, like pilgrims with arms raised in supplication to their god.

~

~

His hand brushed across her shoulders, an embrace that wasn’t.

~

His voice was smooth and seductive, sinking barbed tendrils of compulsion into Rie’s heart and mind.

~

"No harm, no foul.  And certainly no need to have naked blades in my reputable establishment.”

~

The theme of her outfit, if it could be described in one word, was ‘skin’.

~

Her lips receded from too sharp teeth, the skin of her face seeming to fold back as her jaw unhinged in preparation for attack.

Any of them strike your fancy? Which is your favorite?
